Born in Birmingham Alabama during the early 1940’s, Angela Davis grew up to become the epitome of a strong black woman. She is well known for her work as an activist, educator, and relationship with the Black Panther party via the Civil Rights Movement. Then, California Governor, Ronald Reagan once vowed that Ms. Davis would never again teach in the University of California system. Today, she is Distinguished Professor Emerita in the History of Consciousness and Feminist Studies Departments at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
